More Regional Semis: Charlottesville Edges Loudoun County, GW Danville Outs Potomac

Kevin Curry of WKCTV Productions has been covering Loudoun County Girls Basketball ALL Season long. Tonight he was back at Loudoun County as the Lady Raiders took on the Black Knights from Charlottesville High School in the Virginia Region II Semi-Final.

Here is the breakdown he just sent, verbatum!

“LC lead by 10 points 56-46 with 5:09 left on the clock
Charlottesville then went on a 12-0 run to take the lead @ 56-58
Kendra Holmes the went to the line hit two clutch free throws with 14 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

LC drew first blood the first 4 points in OT and lead 62-60 with 1:44 left, LC the turned the ball over trying to bring the ball in, that lead to 2 quick points for Charlottesville, game tied @62, on the ensuing play LC turns the ball over again while trying to inbound the ball, Charlottesville then takes over the ball and with 3.4 seconds left on the clock a foul was committed and Jr. Shawntae Payne stepped to the line and drained two free throws game over 64-62″

He also saw his beloved Panthers fall in the Semi-Finals, to the GW Danville, 78-71 in the Northwest Region.
