VA Boys B-Ball: South Lakes Seahawks Rally Past Woodson Cavaliers, 55-50

The visiting Woodson Cavaliers looked like the home team for most of the game tonight. Their rowdy crowd who dub themselves the “Cavalry” was at a higher pitch than the South Lakes fans, for most of the game. Woodson jumped out to a 31-24 halftime lead behind sophmore guard Max Lenox, including a 60 footer to end the 1st Quarter. The Cavs extended the lead to 39-28 and went to the 4th Qtr up 41-34.
Then the South Lakes Seahawks and their fans woke up, sparked by junior guard Brandon Price and senior Guard Curtis Keys. A furious rally keyed by intense defense and clutch perimeter shooting tied the game at 46 and the Seahawks’ fans could feel the momentum swing back in their favor.
After a couple exchanges, the Cavaliers were down 51-50 with possession and a chance to take the lead, but an offensive foul gave the ball and the game back to South Lakes. Final…South Lakes 55-Woodson 50.
