The Stone Bridge Bulldogs proved to be on another level as they dominated the Marshall Statesmen, 49-29. In the blink of an eye the Bulldogs led 35-0 and their reserves took the field as early as the third quarter. The Statesmen showed a ton of heart as they fought back to within 14 points at 35-21, and lined up for an onside kick with six minutes remaining…plenty of time right? A now nervous homecrowd breathed a sigh of relief as the Bulldogs recovered the kick and then put a final nail in the coffin with two late touchdowns to lead 49-21.

Stone Bridge will host Edison in next week’s Northern Region Semis, after Edison upset Madison 45-26.

The Stone Bridge Bulldogs improved to 11-1 on the year, defeating a determined Marshall team 49-29 in the second round of the Division 5 playoffs. The Bulldogs used several big plays to take command early, and then let the Statesmen up off the canvas, but ultimately reminded them why Stone Bridge is the number one seed in the region.
