Westfield vs Robinson video highlight
Westfield left no doubters after dominating a very good Robinson Rams team on the road. The undefeated Bulldogs reeled off 28 straight points to lead at halftime, 35-7. The only surprise might have been the fact that they only scored 3 points in the second half to win 38-7. Game of the Week: Westfield Maintains Momentum, Thrashes Robinson

Coming off a huge win over second ranked Chantilly, Westfield headed into a potential trap game against the Robinson Rams, but as it turned out it wasn’t much of a trap at all. In fact, the Westfield Bulldogs trounced Robinson 38-7 as Quarterback Mike Glennon, Wide Receiver Johnny Pickett, and Running Back Brian Kennedy paved the way for another Bulldog victory.
In the first quarter, ball control was the only key factor. Both teams appeared to be in a stalemate with all plays from scrimmage deep inside Robinson territory. Both offenses initially sputtered for most of the first quarter, but with 2:52 left Westfield quarterback Scott Glennon broke the deadlock with a touchdown run set up by a Westfield fumble recovery.
Determined not to be out done, Robinson replied with a score of its own on the very next play from scrimmage with a long run from Running back Peter Ferrara on a misdirection carry that quickly turned into a footrace that Ferrara was determined to win. On the very next possession, Robinson’s defense came up huge with an interception return from linebacker Rafiq Qadir, setting up the Ram offense with tremendous field position. However the Rams offense couldn’t keep it going and failed to convert on a 4th and 6, turning the ball over on downs.
The game was never the same after the turnover. The Rams brought a whole new meaning to taking it on the chin when Westfield later scored their second touchdown on a pass from N.C. State bound Scott Glennon to wideout Johnny Pickett on a crisply run slant route. Glennon and Pickett would later connect again on another touchdown pass after Andres Rodriguez intercepted a Timmy Meier pass that went right to him for a pick-six.
By then Westfield had jumped out to a 28-7 with less then a minute to go in the first half. The Bulldogs figured that they could kick the Rams while they were down, and recovered an errant onside kick. Shortly thereafter, Pickett decided to do his best Glennon impression and threw a touchdown pass to receiver David Kruchko.
The second half of the game turned out to be far less eventful, with the lone score coming from a Westfield field goal. Robinson did not do anything to help their cause finishing the game with a total of four first downs.
Robinson fell to 3-2 and faces second ranked Chantilly next while Westfield improved to 5-0 and will look to remain undefeated as they travel to W.T. Woodson.
