Day two results from the Southeast Regionals in Shelby, NC (double-elimination):
- Randolph County Legion (North Carolina) beat Sumter (South Carolina) 7-3 to take one of the two slots in the winner’s bracket.
- Host Shelby Legion (North Carolina) beat Tuscaloosa Legion (Alabama) 14-10 to setup an all-NC winner’s bracket game against Randolph County tomorrow night.
- Columbia Legion (Tennessee), the winner of last year’s American Legion World Series, avoided elimination by beating Leesburg Legion (Georgia) 5-1. Columbia will face Tuscaloosa tomorrow in an elimination game.
- Fort Pierce Legion (Florida) avoided elimination by beating Guaynabo Legion (Puerto Rico) 8-4 and will play defending champion Columbia Legion in an elimination game tomorrow.
The winner of the Southeast Regionals advances to the 2008 American Legion World Series, which will also be played in Shelby, NC.
