NC Legion, Area III
Rowan County Legion defeated Post 63, Burlington-Graham Legion in game seven (or eight of their series, depending how you look at it) to punch one of Area three’s two tickets to the NC Legion state championships.
Rowan County will face Randolph County Legion for the Area 3 championship, with state championship seeding at stake. Randolph County defeated South Rowan Legion to punch their ticket.
NC Legion, Area I
Region One’s Wayne County Legion heads back to states after falling just short against Cherryville last year in the state championship. Clayton Legion will join Wayne County in representing Area 1.
NC Legion, Area II
NC’s Region 2 will send Hope Mills and Wilmington to the state championships. Hope Mills and Wilmington are tied at one game apiece in their Area 2 Championship series, with state championship seeding at stake.
NC Legion, Area IV
Area 4 is the only area where the Area Championship is an elimination series. Cherryville and Pineville are tied at one game each. The loser goes home because Area Four’s Gastonia Legion is hosting the state championships, and therefore automatically takes one of Area Four’s two slots.
