Bishop McGuinness girls basketball wins third consecutive championship

Bishop McGuinness girls basketball started 2007-2008 NCHSAA basketball championship day at the Dean Smith Center by winning the 1A girls basketball championship, the Villains third consecutive NCHSAA championship, as they have won every year that they’ve been in the NCHSAA. The Villains beat a game Pender squad 56-43, handing the Patriots only their second loss of the season. Erin Thompson had a huge game to earn MVP honors, while Janetta Robinson of Pender was the East MVP, and Maggie Bishop of Bishop McGuinness was the West MVP.
