East Lincoln travels over to West Davidson and takes away the upset

West Davidson hosted East Lincoln in the second round of the state playoffs. These two teams score over 50 points in each of their first round games. Early in the game, neither team could get anything going until West Davidson’s defense held East Lincoln and forced them to punt. West Davidson’s #5 returned the punt for a touchdown to give them the early 7-0 lead. In the second quarter with four minutes on the clock, East Lincoln drove down the field and score with just over 2 minutes on the clock. East Lincoln’s quarterback scored on a quarterback sneak, but the extra point was missed and the score was West Davidson with the lead 7-6. That was the score at the half.

In the second half it was a different story as East Lincoln’s offense reverted back to their first round form and capitalized on three straight West Davidson turnovers, which led to 19 points. The final score was East Lincoln upsetting West Davidson, 39-14.
