4AA preview and notes

Leesville Rd., the seven seed, against WF-Rolesville, the two seed, is the best match up in the east of all the second round games. Leesville Rd. comes into the game after defeating SE Raleigh in the first round, while WF-Rolesville defeated Cary in the first round. This is a rematch from the regular season as WF-Rolesville defeated Leesville Rd. to stay undefeated and win the CAP 7 conference title. Leesville Rd. is looking to get revenge for their only loss on the season.

Independence, the ten seed, against Butler, the two seed, is the best match up in the west of all the second round games. This is a rematch from the regular season, where Butler defeated Independence and won the Southwestern 4A conference championship. This is a statement game for both teams as their regular season match up pales in comparison to this match up to stay in the hunt to win a state championship. Independence is coming off a large margin victory over Page and Butler defeated Lumberton in each of their first round games.

Jack Britt takes the short trip to Hope Mills to take on South View. These two met in the regular season and South View won by a score of 35-28. Jack Britt is riding a seven game win streak as their last loss came to Richmond Sr. on Sept. 21. South View is undefeated and will look to stay that way as they look to have the same result as they did in the regular season.

Garner hosts Millbrook in a second round game. These two teams met for their first game of the season and Garner won at Millbrook by a score of 28-6. Garner defeated Jordan in the first round, while Millbrook defeated West Johnston.

The State Championship game is set for December 8, 2007 at Groves Stadium in Winston Salem at 7:30 pm.
