    2AA Preview and Notes

  • Each team is allowed to drop one non-conference game to get their record down to 10 regular season games.
  • East Davidson, the six seed, against Ledford, the eleven seed, is the best first round match up in the east. East Davidson defeated Ledford on the final week of the regular season to put them in a three way tie atop the Central Carolina conference with West Davidson and Salisbury. Ledford is looking to rebound from the 12-7 defeat that came just last week.
  • Pisgah, the five seed, against Smoky Mountain, the twelve seed, is the best first round match up in the west. Pisgah defeated Smoky Mountain in the last game of their regular season, while Smoky Mountain looks to rebound and take out this Western Athletic conference foe.
  • Shelby, one seed, is looking to repeat as state champs from the western part of the bracket will have to contend with teams like Mount Pleasant, Salisbury, and Pisgah, as Southern Vance, two seed in the east, is looking to get back to the championship game again and win the title this year will have to contend with teams like Reidsville, Northwood, and Southern Guilford.
  • The State Championship game is set for December 8, 2007 at Carter-Finley Stadium, in Raleigh at 7:30 pm.
