    1AA Preview and Notes

  • Each team is allowed to drop one non-conference game to get their record down to 10 regular season games.
  • Wallace-Rose Hill, the six seed, against Midway, the eleven seed, is the best first round match up in the east. Wallace-Rose Hill comes in having lost three games on the year to three playoff teams but beating Midway as they are both from the Super Six conference. Midway is looking to rebound from a 26-0 loss to Wallace-Rose Hill on October 26.
  • West Wilkes, the seven seed, against Jordan Matthews, the ten seed, is the best first round match up in the west. West Wilkes comes in having lost two games to Wilkes Central and Mount Airy both top seeds in each of their brackets. Jordan Matthews has lost two games to West Montgomery and Thomasville and could get a rematch in the second round.
  • Thomasville is looking to repeat as State Champs and coming in as a two seed they will have to contend with teams like West Montgomery, Polk County, and Mount Airy. James Kenan is looking to get back to the title game and they are also a two seed and will have to contend with teams like Wallace-Rose Hill, East Bladen, Louisburg, and Ayden-Grifton.
