    3AA Preview and Notes

  • Each team is allowed to drop one non-conference game to get their record down to 10 regular season games.
  • Dudley, the seven seed, against Currituck, the ten seed, is the best first round match up in the east. Dudley lost three games on the year with one coming to a 4A playoff team and the other two coming against two 3A playoff teams. Dudley lost to NE Guilford and with a win by both teams can get their rematch in the second round. Currituck lost two games on the year both playoff teams.
  • Glenn, the eight seed, against Sun Valley, the nine seed, is the best first round match up in the west. Glenn lost their only game of the year to Carver, the one seed in the 3A bracket. Sun Valley lost two games on the year to Anson Co., and A.L. Brown both playoff teams.
  • The west bracket is an interesting bracket with nine teams that have lost two or less games on the year, while the east only has two teams that have two or less games on the season.
  • The east bracket has a first round game pitting two conference teams with the four seed, Eastern Randolph, against the thirteen seed, Asheboro. Both teams are from the Mid-Piedmont conference.
  • The State Championship game is set for December 8, 2007 at Kenan Stadium, in Chapel Hill at 3:30 pm.
