Leesville Road at Millbrook
Leesville Road kept their perfect season alive, but the Millbrook Wildcats gave the Pride all they could handle, finally falling 38-35. Leesville QB Thomas Wilson was superb again, throwing for four touchdowns, and then running in the game winner. Jamal Williams ran for over 200 yards for Millbrook, and added a 99-yard kickoff return for a TD, while QB Brian Kass rushed for two touchdowns.

Richmond at Scotland
We should have highlights and details from this terrific game later - Richmond wins 30-27 in overtime. After an improbable Richmond late TD gave the Raiders the lead, Scotland responded with a TD with seconds remaining to push the game into overtime, but a Richmond field goal and defensive stop secured the wild Raider victory.

South Mecklenburg at Butler
Butler held off South Mecklenburg 19-16 in an important game for both teams. Butler’s Jarrett Boykin scored all three Bulldog touchdowns, two on the ground, and one on a long TD pass from Jacob Charest. South Meck rallied hard late, scoring two touchdowns in the final quarter, but came up just short when they ran out of time deep into the Butler end zone as they tried to get into position to push the game into OT with a field goal attempt on their final possession.

Charlotte Latin at South Point
Charlotte Latin played yet another very impressive football game, beating up on a good South Point football team 42-20.

Wake Forest-Rolesville at Sanderson
The game figured to be a defensive battle and was. Sanderson hung in there, up 3-0 at half and down 7-3 going into the fourth, but the Wake Forest-Rolesville defense was simply too strong as WRF pulled away for the 21-3 victory. The WFR ground attack steadily wore down a gritty Sanderson defense, with Young and Kosanke combining for over 150 yards, and scoring all three touchdowns (the first two from Young). It looks like the Cap-7 could come down to a showdown on the last game of the year between two undefeated teams - WRF and Leesville Road, although WRF gets another stiff test next week vs Millbrook.

Southeast Raleigh at Garner
Garner football remained undefeated and on top of the Greater Neuse 4A with a solid win over theSoutheast Raleigh football Bulldogs. Southeast Raleigh, who came into the game on a four game winning streak, with only one loss on the season, played well, but Garner prevailed in the end, as they have all season.

West Mecklenburg at Charlotte Catholic
Charlotte Catholic moved into the driver’s seat in the Queen City 3A/4A with a 35-15 win over West Mecklenburg.
