East Montgomery stays undefeated in a match up between two top 1A soccer teams

In a match up between the top 1A soccer team in East Montgomery hosting #8 Thomasville with East Montgomery winning by a score of 6-3. The first part of the first half was a lot of action with nothing to show for it but the flood gates would open and the scoring would start pouring in. East Montgomery got on the board first when #15 Fernando broke through the defense and had a one on one fast break as he beat the goalie in the top corner to put East Montgomery up 1-0.

East Montgomery didn’t take long to score their next goal as they got a corner kick and #17 Charlie Winn scored on a header to take the score to 2-0. East Montgomery was not done and #15 would strike again as Charlie had a nice shot on goal that was blocked by the goalie but Fernando was there to pick up the rebound and shoot and score to take their lead to 3-0. East Montgomery kept the pressure on as Fernando got a hat trick in the first half scoring another nice goal to take the lead to 4-0.

Thomasville finally got something going after giving up four unanswered goals. Thomasville got a nice goal from #7 Edwin Garcia to take the score to 4-1. That was the score as the half came to the end. In the second half, Thomasville cut the lead to two as they got a goal with 17:30 left in the game from #17. East Montgomery answered quickly when #9 score to take the lead back to three. East Montgomery would score again later as Thomasville had to put in their backup goalie in as the starter was injured on a previous play. Thomasville would get a goal just before the game was over from #12 to make the final score 6-3.

    Those boys are doing it up. I wish them luck in their pursue of the RING.
