Vince Jordan leads West Montgomery to 41-10 victory

West Montgomery’s offense was literally running wild as they gained 389 yards on the ground to lead to a 41-10 victory over Albemarle. West Montgomery got 88 yards passing to go along with the rushing yards for 477 total yards. West Montgomery got the scoring started in the first quarter as Josh Hurley handed the ball off to Vince Jordan and he tried to bust it up the middle but there was a wall of defenders and he spun to the outside and hit the seem down the sideline and took it to the house for a 62 yard touchdown run to give West Montgomery a touchdown lead over Albemarle.

Albemarle got the ball and put together a drive of their own with a few key rushes and some penalties and they got inside the 10 yard line. They had a few chances to get in the end zone but some key penalties and a sack forced them to kick a field goal to make the score 7-3 in favor of West Montgomery.

West Montgomery’s ground game was moving the ball all night but they got two quick strikes from the passing game as Josh Hurley hooked up with Dominique Drake for two scores. The first touchdown was a 53 yard hookup and the second came from a 31 yard touchdown pass. The score at the end of the half was 21-3 in favor of West Montgomery.

At the beginning of the second half, Albemarle came out with a little momentum as they got a key stop to open the half and forced West Montgomery to punt. The ball was snapped over the punter’s head and Albemarle got the ball in the red zone and a couple of plays later Jay Jay Harris ran it in for a touchdown to make the score 21-10. Albemarle lost all momentum after that as West Montgomery went on to score three more touchdowns to take the final score to 41-10.

West Montgomery was led by Vince Jordan as he rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns, while Josh Hurley threw two touchdowns and Dominique Drake caught two touchdowns. Jay Jay Harris scored Albemarle’s only touchdown as West Montgomery’s defense limited Albemarle to 100 yards of total offense. West Montgomery moves to 3-0 as they have scored 40+ points in each of their victories.
