Providence football earned their first win of the year, beating North Mecklenburg 27-14. Providence came out flying, jumping out to a 19-0 lead, and holding off North Mecklenburg for the victory. Providence’s touchdowns all came on the ground, although Providence QB Justin Siems moved the ball well threw the air between the twenties. Siems ran for a touchdown, running back Steven Hatley scored twice, and back George Jackson ran for a touchdown. North Mecklenburg’s touchdowns were scored by Xavier Joplin on a long run and Josh Yost on a pass reception.
