South Rowan advances to third round of playoffs

South Rowan Legion (roster, StarCards, videos, stats, photos) beat Concord Legion (photos) 6 - 5 at Concord to win the second round series three games to one, and advance to face Randolph County. South erased a fifth inning, five run deficit to rally to win. Justin Lane had three hits, including a clutch two out, two RBI hit in the sixth, and CJ Neal tossed a much needed complete game. South prevented Concord from repeating their playoff performance verses Mocksville, in which Concord was down two games to none, but came storming back to win three straight and win the series.
South will play at Randolph County on Saturday. South and Randolph split two regular season games. Randolph County is the #1 seed in Area III’s North Division, going undefeated during the playoffs so far, and led by an offense that included five of the North Division All-Star Team hitters. In that All-Star game, Rudy Brown’s inning happened to be against three of those hitters: McSwain, Yow, and Bunting, and Brown retired all three (video clip below):
