#1 seed Rowan Legion (photos and videos) beat Lexington Legion (photos) at Lexington 7 - 4 to take a 2 - 0 second round playoffs lead, and #3 seed South Rowan Legion (roster, StarCards, videos, stats, photos) beat Concord Legion (photos) 4 - 1 at Concord to take a 2 - 0 second round playoffs lead.

Walker Snow had another big game for South, following up his excellent game one relief outing, with a complete game four-hitter with 11 strikeouts, allowing only one unearned run. South hitters Justin Lane, Daniel Wagner, Brett Huffman, and CJ Neal had two hits each, with Wagner hitting a solo home run and scoring three runs. Lane, Huffman, and Jonathon Basinger knocked in the other three South runs.

Cy Young remained undefeated for Rowan, keeping Lexington hitters off balance all night with pinpoint control of his fastball and off-speed pitches. Rowan scored three in the fifth to take a lead that they would never relinquish, keyed by a two-out Justin Ridenhour two RBI hit. Ridenhour had three hits and Weston Church had two hits and two RBI. Ridenhour said “I’m seeing the ball well right now. You always know Cy is going to put in a good effort. As a team, we just have to keep playing hard.”

Both series head back to Rowan County tonight for game three - Concord at South, and Lexington at Rowan. Both teams are up 2 - 0 now, and also swept their first round playoff series, so are a combined 10 for 10. Lexington and Concord remain dangerous however - Concord came down from 0 - 2 to win three straight to beat #2 seed Mocksville in a 5-game series. Lexington also won three straight in their opening round playoff series to beat Stanly after dropping game one at home.
