Region 6 wins the Gold with a victory over Region 5
Region 5 opened up the scoring in the first with a single by Nick McBride (West Forsyth) to drive in a run, but Region 6 answered quickly in the bottom half of the inning with five runs on four hits, including a key Adam Waters (Hopewell) two-run double. Both Region 5 and Region 6 hit well throughout the game, with Region 6 finally prevailing by a final score of 9 - 6.
Region 2 defeats Region 7 to take home the Bronze Medal
Region 2 jumped out to the early lead and never looked back, beating Region 7 by a score of 7-1. Region 2 scored four runs in the first inning on only one hit. Region 7 answered quickly with a run in the second inning, but that was to be their only run of the day. Region 2 steadily pushed their lead, scoring again in the fourth inning when Thomas Jones (Topsail) roped a double and then came around to score, and added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth. Region 2 earned the bronze metal with their victory.
