First Cobb Senior Bowl - An ENORMOUS Success

Wow. On the first attempt, organizers Martha and Michael Siano of Xecute Consulting Partners nailed it. Scores of coaches, players, families, fans and scouts packed McEachern Stadium Saturday at 3:00 p.m. to take in the first annual Cobb County All-Star Senior Bowl.

The Americans, led by Stanley Jennings’ 5 of 7 pass completions for 123 yards and one touchdown, edged out the Nationals 27-24 in a game that came down to the final whistle. For the game, North Cobb’s Calvin Middleton had 64 yards and one touchdown on seven attempts, and the return games provided plenty of excitement for the crowd - Brian Sutherland took a kick-off 94 yards to the house with 4.4 seconds left in the half, and Marietta’s Trey Charles nearly returned the favor but was stopped at the three yard line with no time left on the clock in the first half. But in the end, it was the American’s defense led by North Cobb’s Bryan Presume and Nnamdi Ezenwa that was too much for the Nationals to overcome. Check back here later for stats from the game, and check the Cobb Senior Bowl All-Star Game site for photos uploaded by The Athletic Image (photos can be purchased at www.theathleticimage.com).

While you wait for today’s highlights, the All-Star game site linked above has hundreds of terrific regular season game photos from many of the teams that were represented at McEachern today. You can even save them all on your individual LocalReplay pages for free (if you don’t have your individual LR page yet, you’ll get it when you register on LR (free)).

This event has been months in the making, and isn’t just all about football either. The Sianos and other organizers have been able to focus the positive energy and resources surrounding the Bowl on giving back to the community. Bravo to all involved - LocalReplay looks forward to being associated with this outstanding event for years to come.

Hit ‘em hard,
