Another familiar foe for N. Gwinnett | ajc.com
If North Gwinnett can defeat Walton in the Georgia Dome this weekend, the Bulldogs will have accomplished what most companies aspire to — serving repeat customers. Utilizing what turned out to be an almost unstoppable offense, the North Gwinnett Bulldogs ended the Newnan Cougars’ season here in Tara Stadium Friday night, 38-35, in the Class AAAAA state quarterfinals. Trailing 38-19 with just over two minutes to play, the Cougars finished with a flourish, however, scoring 16 points in the short span of one minute and five seconds and coming to within a whisker of recovering a botched snap as the Bulldogs were running out the clock of having one more shot at the end zone.

Sophomore leads Tattnall past Pinewood | savannahmorningnews.com
DeAndre Smelter wasn’t alive when Barney Hester won his first state championship in 1988. He wasn’t for the second or the third, either. But it was Smelter, Tattnall Square’s only sophomore starter, along with a standout defense that helped ensure Hester won his second straight and 10th overall GISA Class AAA championship on Friday.

Going back to the Dome | valdostadailytimes.com
“Hit them early, and don’t look back.” That’s what Lowndes center Ethan Barwick said the Vikings wanted to do in the Class AAAAA state quarterfinals, and that’s exactly what the Region 1-AAAAA champions did.
