Roundup: Classes A-AAA
| ajc.com

Rarely has domination been this big of an understatement. It took No. 1 Buford all of one minute and three seconds to build a 14-0 lead against overmatched Washington-Wilkes. It took just 10 plays for the host Wolves to build a 42-0 lead in the first quarter.

In almost matter-of-fact fashion, Brookwood ran through Sprayberry Friday night in a way that surprised even the Broncos — for a short time, anyway. The first-round playoff game result reflected the dominance: Broncos 34, Sprayberry 0.

GAC rebounds from shaky half, hammers Morgan Co.
| ajc.com

Behind the running of Bobby Petrino and a dominating defensive performance, Greater Atlanta Christian survived a shaky first half before pulling away for a dominating 24-0 victory over Morgan County at Bill Corry Stadium in Madison. GAC started quickly, taking the opening kickoff and driving to the Morgan County 5 yard line. On fourth and 2, GAC coach Jimmy Chupp eschewed the chip-shot field goal and decided to go for a first down. The gamble failed as tailback Petrino was stuffed for no gain to end the threat.

The Indians (10-1) needed only four plays to get to the 50, but then the Stephenson defense began to stiffen.

Powerhouse Lincoln Co. too much for Landmark
| ajc.com

Lincoln County doesn’t make too many early playoff trips to the Metro Atlanta, and the few Class A teams in the area should be grateful. The fourth-ranked Red Devils rolled into Fairburn on Friday for a first-round matchup with Landmark Christian at Bill Thorn Stadium, and from all indications, Lincoln County should be back in the area in a couple of weeks.

Fayette Co. bests Baldwin, proves doubters wrong
| ajc.com

Talk pegged Class AAAA No. 4 ranked Baldwin as the team that would own matters physically over No. 6 Fayette County in the first round of the state playoffs. But a funny thing happened Friday night as the Tigers (11-0) held their own in more ways than one to topple the Braves in heart-stopping fashion, 21-16.
