Georgia High School Football Top 10 Rankings - Week 9

MLK

Class 5A
1. M.L. King- A bye week prepares the Lions for their playoff run in a few weeks.
2. Lowdnes-Colquitt County couldn’t compete with the Vikings who are becoming the kings of south Georgia.
3. Camden County-The Wildcats have shown no ill effects from their early season loss, and are running away with region 3.
4. Chattahoochee-Talk about hot, the Cougars have been dominant since an early season loss to Wheeler.
5. Coffee-The Wildcats dominated Coffee and are proving to be a force even with the loss to Lowdnes.
6. North Gwinnett-An amazing season continues for the Bulldogs as they take their undefeated record into the last two weeks of the season.
7. Walton-The Raiders took care of Sprayberry, and have been impressive all season long.
8. Stephenson-Newton was no match for the powerful Wildcats.
9. Coweta County-The Indians are into the top ten with their impressive resume.
10. Brookwood-The Broncos have had an up and down season, but they are finally on track.

Dropped Out: Coffee, Camden County

Class 4A
1. Northside Warner Robbins-The Eagles had a close call to Upson-Lee, but still remain Georgia’s best.
2. Tucker-The Tigers have found their grove and continue to roll over opponents.
3. East Paulding-The Raiders have had the quietest undefeated season of any of the teams. They are gaining respect week by week.
4. Northwest Whitfield-The Bruins high powered offense came back into play against Ringgold.
5. Fayette County-Speaking of undefeated teams, the Tigers are among the best in the state.
6. Salem-A close win over Heritage proves the Seminoles have what it takes to win close games.
7. Dalton-The Catamounts are among North Georgia’s top teams.
8. St. Pius X-One of the hardest teams to figure out in the state beats Mays and becomes a factor again.
9. Thomas County Central-A 9-0 record against questionable opponents leave the Jackets this low.
10. Griffin-The Bears are 8-1, and really could make some noise in the playoffs.

Dropped Out: Cherokee, Mays, Statesboro, Hillgrove

Class 3A

1. Carver-Columbus-Lagrange put a huge fight, but Carver is the state’s best.
2. North Hall-The Trojans have put together an impressive season thus far and continue to dominate opponents, they look to be on a collision course with Carver.
3. Carver,Atlanta-There must be something magic about Carver because the Atlanta squad might be just as good.
4. Stephens County-The Indians continue to dominate class 3A.
5. Cairo-The Syrupmakers are back on a roll and are looking toward the playoffs.
6. Henry County-The Warhawks held on against Mary Persons after a rough outing.
7. Shaw-The Raiders have found their offensive rhythm and could be this season’s sleeper.
8. Westminister-The big win against Chamblee moves up the Wildcats.
9. Flowery Branch-Led by Middle Tennessee State commit Jaybo Shaw, the Falcons are an offensive juggernaut.
10. Hart County-The Bulldogs have quickly established themselves as a contender with their spotless record.

Class 2A
1. Charlton County-The Indians are taking care of business this time against Jeff Davis. 45-0.
2. Buford-Buford has been the most dominant team in 2A, but really has had little competition along the way.
3. Dublin-The Fighting Irish have not even come close to a loss since falling early in the season.
4. Morgan County-The Bulldogs have taken care of Oglethrope County, and now are looking at Putnam County.
5. North Oconee-The Titans destroyed Glascock County and are preparing for the championship tilt.
6. Calhoun-The Jackets found their playmakers often this year, and have stormed through North Georgia.
7. Pierce County-The Bears win over Brantley County is making them a good bet to win region 2.
8. Swainsboro-The Tigers easily beat Josey 50-0.
9. Fannin County-The Rebels late season surge is impressing everyone in the state.
10. Fitzgerald-The Purple Hurricanes have been strong and their loss doesn’t diminsh the fact they are a top ten.

1. Fellowship Christian-The Paladins continue to roll on.
2. Lincoln County-The Red Devils are a number one in most people’s book, and Warren County found out why.
3. Emmanuel County-The Bulldogs are a powerful force in Class A.
4. Clinch County-The Panthers are showing why they are defending champions
5. Athens Academy-Commerce was a big win, and established them as a title contender.
6. Pacelli-The Vikings are proving to the state that they are no joke.
7. Dooly County-The ‘Cats continue to roll and are undefeated as well.
8. Brookstone-The Cougars and their one loss, should remain perfect for the rest of the season.
9. Jefferson-The Dragons are on fire, and have had little trouble in region play.
10. Commerce-One of the hardest teams to figure out is the Tigers.
