Fayette Co., Whitewater impressive

But two schools — Fayette County and Whitewater — are taking strides this season toward changing that. While Fayette County (7-0, 5-0 Region 2-AAAA), ranked No. 9 in Class AAAA, was improving upon its undefeated record Friday night, neighboring Whitewater was being anything but neighborly to county rival Starr’s Mill — to the tune of a 35-7 thumping.

The No. 8-ranked Bulldogs (7-0) proved that Friday night at North DeKalb Stadium by rolling over Grady 49-21 in a critical game that they played without 305-pound lineman Omoregie Uzzi and wingback-cornerback Malcolm Beyah.
