Mt. Pisgah’s Hall tops voting | ajc.com
Fedale Hall is used to running away with it. But usually, it’s the football that he’s taking off with, leaving others in the dust. This week, the Mount Pisgah RB left the Player of the Week field far behind, garnering nearly 2,000 votes to take the honor for Week 8. Hall rushed for 357 yards and six touchdowns and returned a kickoff 98 yards for another score in Pisgah’s 63-62 loss to Our Lady of Mercy.
Take 10: Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes | ajc.com
My fellow fans, if you make Take Ten the Grand Poobah of Georgia high school football, you will not regret it. We will make changes that benefit the masses and entertain ourselves at the same time. As great as the sport is around here, there are ways to make it better. And while Take Ten’s self-serving nature would give each stadium comfy recliners for the press and professional stat-keepers to make our jobs simple, these changes go beyond that.
Ranked or not, Broncos title contenders | ajc.com
More and more, it’s looking like Brookwood. I’ve looked into the Poll Talk crystal ball, forecasting the Class AAAAA playoffs through to the state championship, and the most surprising thing — and I’m just as shocked as you will be — is that Brookwood is going to play for the title game.
Canes get a big test at Villa Rica | dailytribune.com
The kind of loss the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes suffered last week at Weinman Stadium, a 41-35 double-overtime setback at the hands of Cedartown, is one that can take weeks to get over. However, Cartersville (3-3-1, 2-2 Region 6-AAA) doesn’t have that luxury, as the Canes travel to Villa Rica to face the Wildcats (4-3, 1-3) in another critical region contest. “Last week was an extremely tough loss,” said Cartersville coach Frank Barden. ”
Newton has points to make vs. Stephenson | rockdalecitizen.com
Before the Newton Rams can beat Stephenson on Saturday at Homer Sharp Stadium they must do something they have not been able to do in three tries — score. East Coweta remembers 27-0 blanking delivered by Hiram | timesherald.com
Last season, the East Coweta High Indians were in the middle of their downturn which led to a 6-5 season when they ventured to Hiram for a Region 4-AAAAA football matchup with the Hornets. Despite some flashes on offense, the Indians weren’t able to take advantage of good field position and were shutout 27-0 by Hiram as All-Region running back Cushik Williams gradually wore down the Indians defense. The Indians will look to avenge that defeat and move a step closer to a home game in the GHSA State AAAAA Playoffs when the Hornets pay a visit to Garland Shoemake Stadium Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

It’s time for Jags- To answer the call | griffindailynews.com
The sentiment this week at Spalding High was simple: “We didn’t do ourselves any favors.” The Jaguars (4-3 overall, 1-2 Region 4-AAA Div. A) head into Friday’s game at rival Jackson (2-5, 1-2) riding a two-game losing streak and in the unenviable position of having to play for their playoff lives.
