Just Bearly: Burke wins in triple OT | augustachronicle.com
It was the rare triple overtime game that will be forgotten. Burke County finally managed a hot potato of a victory that neither team wanted to step up and grab Friday night. The Bears did it in a fashion that befitted the overall drudgery of the game. The hero of the night could have came up with a cover-up as to how the game was won.

ECI’s Ealey takes it easy after scoring seventh TD | ajc.com
Washaun Ealey of Emanuel County Institute could have broken the state record for touchdowns Friday. He had seven touchdowns. It might be easier to talk about his non-touchdown carries, since there were only six of those. His 13 carries produced 303 yards and 46 points in the 69-27 victory. Had Class A’s third-ranked Bulldogs been inclined to pour it on against winless Calvary Day, they would’ve used him well into the third quarter. And he easily could have shattered Don Calloway’s record of eight touchdowns in a 1999 game for Miller County.

Woodland fell to 0-5 overall, 0-4 in the region.
Trojans down Colonels, 42-7 | thedailytribune.com
After last week’s 34-7 victory over Cartersville, the Cass Colonels had high hopes for their game at No. 3 Carrollton Friday night. However, Cass learned the hard way that the road to a Region 6-AAA championship still runs through Grisham Stadium. Carrollton (5-0, 2-0) used a suffocating defense and an efficient offense to whip the Colonels, 42-7, in a performance that left Cass head coach Rick Casko impressed afterwards.
Trojans fry Colonels in Region 6-AAA affair | timesgeorgian.com
While all the hype surrounded Cass’ Richard Samuel at the start of the evening, it was Courtney Mabry who gobbled up all the yards Friday night. The Carrollton senior running back outgained the state’s No. 1-ranked back 150 yards to 18 through three quarters in a game the Trojans dominated in every facet of play, and most importantly on the scoreboard in an eye-opening 42-7 Region 6-AAA rout of the Colonels at Grisham Stadium.
Rebels Too Much for Lions in 33-21 Contest | timesgeorgian.com
After giving up a touchdown in the first three minutes to Haralson County, Central set itself up to come right back with a touchdown of its own. For a Central team that hasn’t scored a first-half touchdown all season, it would’ve provided a big momentum boost and since the Rebels had missed the PAT, the potential to take the lead for the first time since its season-opener.
Red Devils shut out by War Eagles | timesgeorgian.com
The Bowdon High School football team traveled to battle Landmark Christian in a non-region game Friday night at Bill Thorn Stadium. In a game typical of past series with large scoring margins, Landmark Christian (2-4) wound up on the winning side of a 38-0 shutout of the Red Devils (2-4).

The Titans’ offense began on a sour note, but the defense helped turn that negative into quick points.

Mill Creek running back Lenny Brooks broke a tackle and streaked 55 yards to the end zone with 19.2 seconds left before halftime, costing North Forsyth dearly for a botched squib kick one play earlier. The score tarnished what was otherwise a strong first half for North, and the Raiders (0-5 overall, 0-3 Region 7-AAAAA) were never able to recover.
Dawgs overpowered by Lions second quarter surge | forsythcountynews.com
It took a full quarter for Peachtree Ridge’s offense to wake up at Forsyth Central Friday night, but once it did, the Lions made up for lost time with a vengeance. The defending state champs exploded for 34 points in the second quarter and never looked back on the way to a 55-7 rout of the Bulldogs on homecoming night.
Griffin Christian still looking for 1st win | griffindailynews.com
Ethan Rowe’s two touchdowns Friday night weren’t enough to prevent Griffin Christian from losing its sixth game in a row, 20-12, to visiting Dawson Street Christian in a match-up of GISA schools.
