Class 5A
1. Tift County-The best team in Class 5A did a fine job of proving how powerful they are with a convincing 41-7 win over Americus-Sumter. This week they face off against Thomas County Central.
2. M.L. King-Another easy victory for the Lions catapult them to number 2. North Atlanta doesn’t stand a chance this week.
3. Coffee-Their win against Bradwell Institute was impressive. They dominated the entire game 33-14. This week against Johnson, Savannah will be a big out of region game.
4. Roswell-The Hornets are continuing to play great football as they defeated Kell 42-7. This week Walton will pose one of their biggest tests of the season.
5. Camden County-They answered the call last week against Aiken, SC with a 43-0 victory. This week the region season begins with Groves.
6. Lowndes-The Vikings are rolling with a 28-14 win over Ware County. Central Gwinnett will be a big region game.
7. Chattahoochee-A 17-21 loss to Wheeler is not the worst way to end a week. But, nonetheless Cougars drop a couple spots. If Lassiter pulls the upset the Cougars will be outside of the top 10 once again.
8. North Gwinnett-The Bulldogs will face Forsyth Creek this week, after winning 35-2 over Mill Creek.
9. Berkmar-Houston County found out what people around the state are saying. The Patriots are a legitimate team. Berkmar will kick off its region tilt with Central Gwinnett.
10. Parkview-The Panthers opened the season with two wins, and were off last week. Houston County will face off this weekend against an improving Parkview team.
Dropped out: Valdosta

Class 4A
1. Northside Warner Robbins-North Clayton didn’t stand a chance against the Eagles with a 42-6 drubbing. They begin their regional season with a game against Jones County.
2. Tucker-It got ugly against Dekalb to the tune of 62-0. This week the Tigers have a huge matchup against St. Pius X.
3. East Paulding-Douglas County posed little challenge for the Raiders as the score was not as close as it looked. East Paulding will face Alexander this week.
4. Statesboro-The Blue Devils held on against a strong Glynn Academy squad, 19-13. Wayne County will be a rough matchup on a short week.
5. Westlake-The Lions handled McIntosh 27-14. This week could pose more of a threat as they face Starr’s Mill.
6. St. Pius X-After beating Columbia last weekend, the Golden Lions are gearing up for a huge matchup. The game with Tucker could be the state of Georgia’s game of the week.
7. Cherokee-The Warriors did an excellent job this week in their 48-20 win over Woodland. They square off against Chapel Hill on Friday.
8. Rome-The team moved up in our poll despite a tie against a very solid Cartersville squad. This weekend’s matchup against Lakeview-Ft. Oglethrope will be a good measuring stick.
9. Ridgeland-The Panthers have quietly compiled a 3-0 record. They have been led by a strong rushing attack, and good defense. Ridgeland should have little problem with Northwest, Whitfield.
10. Fayette County-The Tigers have enjoyed a great season thus far. Wins against Jonesboro, Whitewater, and Mt. Zion have put the Tigers on the map. They look to keep the momentum going against Woodward Academy.
Dropped Out: Northgate, Griffin
Class 3A
1. Carrollton-The Trojans showed why they are the top team in the state with a 25-9 win over Westminister. Haralson County will be their first region matchup of the season.
2. Lagrange-A huge victory over Jordan, 48-0, makes the Grangers closer to the top spot. Kendrick should be another easy victory.
3. Flowery Branch-The Falcons showed why they belong in the top 3 with their 34-3 win. Their opponent this Friday will be East Hall.
4. Carver, Columbus-The bye week is always kind. The Tigers face Northside, Columbus in a rivalry game this week.
5. Cairo-A close call over Bainbridge makes the Syrupmakers confident they can overcome adversity. Matanzas, FL will be a good tune-up for the upcoming region schedule.
6. Monroe-The Tornados handled Northeast Macon, 25-12, and are looking to continue their impressive season against Hancock Central this week.
7. Peach County-The Trojans are making believers out of everyone with their 42-3 domination over Eagles Landing. This week is a bye week for a Trojans team that is gearing up for a run at a state title.
8. West Laurens-Preparation is always at a premium during bye weeks. The Raiders moved up a couple of spots, and face off against Spalding this week.
9. Gainesville-The Red Elephants burst into the top 10 with a strong 3-0 record, and some dominating performances. Lumpkin County doesn’t stand a chance against Gainesville.
10. Blessed Trinity-The Titans round out the top 10 with a 2-0 record. South Atlanta is looking for the upset against a powerful Blessed Trinity team.
Dropped Out: Jackson, Northeast Macon

Class 2A
1. Charlton County- Their game against Beach was cancelled last week. Now, they have a bye week that will help them prepare for their region schedule.
2. Dublin-The Fighting Irish redeemed themselves against Xlass 3A this season with a win over Washington County. Their game against Stephens County this week will mark their last out of region game.
3. Buford-Avondale was blown out of the water with a 63-6 final score. The Wolves look to be on their way to claiming the top spot. Wesleyan will be merely a bump in the road.
4. Fitzgerald-The Purple Hurricanes easily took care of Randolph-Clay in a 41-6 contest. This week against Mitchell County could prove to be a tougher test.
5. Bleckley County-The Royals are back on track with a win over Hawkinsville. Twiggs County should be an easy out of region game.
6. Morgan County-After a bye week to work out some of their offensive problems they had against Salem, the Bulldogs will have something to prove against Franklin County.
7. Darlington-In a defensive struggle, the Tigers prevailed over Dade County, 7-0. This week a tough Bremen team is comes to town.
8. Pierce County-Tattnall County is waiting for the Bears after a bye week to prepare for this key matchup.
9. Tattnall County-Metter was no match for the Battle Creek Warriors in a 40-0 romp. They will host a fearsome Pierce County team this week.
10. Callaway-The Cavaliers vault into the top 10 on the strength of a 2-0 record. This week they draw Manchester after long bye week.
Dropped Out: Marion County

Class 1A
1. Athens Academy-Monticello had no chance against Athens last week, and Fellowship Christian won’t fare any better.
2. Lincoln County-The Red Devils handled their business against Washington-Wilkes, 32-0. Aquinas gets a shot against Lincoln County this week.
3. Emmanuel County-The Bulldogs beat down Johnson County 33-0, and will look to continue their impressive play against Toombs County.
4. Clinch County-After all the criticism this 0-2 team took, they responded with a big 55-0 win over Pelham. Their game against Lanier County will again put the Panthers under the microscope.
5. Commerce-The Tigers took it to Banks County 55-40. They will square off against Trion in their first Class A matchup of the season.
6. Seminole County-Westover felt the wrath of a powerful Indian offense 35-24. Atkinson County will try to avoid one of Seminole County’s strong offensive forces this week.
7. Hancock Central-The Bulldogs held on against Putnam County 18-8. This week they face a formidable Monroe squad.
8. Gordon Lee-After pulling out a victory over 4A South Paulding, the Trojans are riding high. Look for them to keep it up this week against Creekview.
9. Bremen-A close game against Whitfield tested the team’s mettle. Darlington will be a different kind of opponent.
10. Schley County-Jenkins County awaits the Wildcats after their bye week.
