And now for some bold reflections and recognitions from this weekend’s Atlanta Cup. Don’t agree? Have what it takes to defend your argument against others? Leave us a comment below….
Most Impressive Club (Boys) - North Atlanta, with six finals appearances and three championships (followed closely by Concorde (4 and 1) and GSA (3 and 2)). It was a fantastic Boys’ tournament for North Atlanta.
Most Impressive Team (Boys) - SCSA 93 Gold, winners of the U14 Boys Cup. In a tough, tough division, the Gold from Charlotte took care of their business.
Most Surprising Team (Boys) - Spirit of ‘93, making the trip up from Florida, to win the U15 Boys C division.
Best Offensive Performance (Boys) - Tie: between the Smyrna Stealth Gold 96 with 21 goals in the U12 Boys A division, and Cobb FC Chiefs Gold with 21 goals as well in the U14 Boys A division.
Best Defensive Performance (Boys) - The Lanier Sharks out of the U16 Boys C division, who had 4 goals against all tournament on its way to a division title.
Best Final Game (Boys) - U19 Boys Cup. The “old guys” held nothing back in this overtime thriller, that saw a North Atlanta team (Shocker!) put two in the back of the net in extra time against Lexington United.

Most Impressive Club (Girls) - GSA, on four finals appearances with two wins.
Most Impressive Team (Girls) - The Angels 90 out of Birmingham in the U19 Girls Cup, who blitzed their competition all weekend on their way to a clean sheet for the tournament.

Best Defensive Performance (Girls) - The Renegades of Blackwatch SC out of the U14 Girls C division, who had 18 goals for and 1 goal against for the tournament.
