Boys Soccer

Part II features boys’ action from the 2007 Atlanta Cup held in the Atlanta-metro area. Again, congratulations to Sharron Saffriet and all her staff and volunteers for pulling off a successful event.

Under 10 Boys Cup

Express 98 goes home with the top prize in the U10 Boys Cup after defeating AFU U10 Gold 4-2. Express had the only perfect sheet of the weekend in this division.

Under 10 Boys A

KFC Argentina ‘98 Messi submitted a finger-lickin’ performance with their defeat of a resilient Ambush 97-98 White squad in the finals on Monday. Both teams entered the finals with nine overall points in regular play.

Under 11 Boys Cup

Charlotte 96/97 Redbulls shocked the Countryside Nike Boyz 2-0 early on Championship Monday. Charlotte took down the Alpharetta Ambush 97 Red in the semi’s, while Countryside picked up a “W” over Brentwood - Inrgy in their tune up for the finals.

Under 11 Boys A

United 97 Blue South smoked the visiting TN United 97 Boys Red team 4-0 to grab the title. United torched the competition in regular play, and came up with a solid 1-0 win in the semi’s over the CFC Chiefs 97 Gold on its way to the finals.

Under 11 Boys B

At Wade Walker on Monday morning, the AFUSA Silver bested a gritty Concorde Fire South 97 Black squad to capture U11 Boys B. The two teams won their division in regular play, with the third division winner being the CC Streaks 97.

Under 12 Boys Cup

Oldsmar Outlaws stole the championship from the 95 Carolina Select in a 2-1 skirmish. Both teams came up clutch in the semi’s, with the Select overcoming the Forsyth Fusion Fire 7-2, and the Outlaws getting the better of the JFC Green by a score of 2-1.

Under 12 Boys A

The Smyrna Steal Gold 96 took the division title back across town after securing a tremendous victory over cross-town rivals Norcross Fury Gold. The Gold didn’t score less than 4 goals per game during regular plays and the semi’s. Wow.

Under 12 Boys B

In a division of sixteen teams, it was the 95 Boys Elite that prevailed over GSA 96 Real Madrid one to nothing, to take home the U12 Boys B title. The division winners were the Elite, Real Madrid, Largo United and Nitro out of Central Florida.

Under 13 Boys Cup

Another division of sixteen teams, and another 1-0 victory - this time it was the GSA 95 Phoneix Red getting the best of the AFC 95 Premier. Other division winners were the NASA ‘13 Elite and the Bridge FA 94 Gold.

Under 13 Boys A

MPSC 94 Elite took care of the Concorde Fire North Black in a 3-1 final game. Concorde edged out Impact USA 95 in PK’s in the semi’s, while the Elite beat Vestavia Steamers ‘95 Black 1-0.

Under 13 Boys B

NASA 13 Premier relied on great defense and strong goalkeeper play as it outlasted TFC Navy 2-1 in the finals. The other division leader was Fury 95 Premier. Each division leader had nine overall points in regular play.

Under 13 Boys C

AFC 95 Gold made quick work out of the North Atlanta 13 Royal in a nooner on Championship Monday. The Gold beat Cobb FC 95 Chiefs Silver in the semi-finals, while the Royal got by Alpharetta Ambush 95 Red.

Under 14 Boys Cup

SCSA 93 Gold beat the Triangle United Gold 93B in a convincing 4-0 win to take home the Cup title. SCSA breezed through the field the entire weekend, and was truly one of the more impressive teams of the tournament.

Under 14 Boys A

Boys A title goes to the COBB FC Chiefs Gold after they took care of the Clay County Rangers 3-0 on Monday. The Chiefs’ offensive prowess was on display for the last three days, erupting for 21 goals.

Under 14 Boys B

HSC 94 Blue clung to a one goal lead as it beat out Thunder 94 to take the B division. HSC overcame Dacula Danger 94 White in the game leading up to the finals, and the Thunder got by North Atlanta 12 Premier on its way to the championship.

Under 14 Boys C

In a sixteen team division, often times luck has a lot to do with advancing. GCUFC U-14 Blue didn’t need much luck as it turned in solid performance after solid performance on its way to defeating North Atlanta White in the final game.

Under 15 Boys Cup

The GSA 93 Phoenix Red outlasted the Concorde Fire Elite at Allen Creek Monday morning in one of the finest title games of the day. All three division winners, which included GSA, Concorde and the North Atlanta 11 Elite, finished regular play with nine overall points.

Under 15 Boys A

The Macon Hearts picked up five championship game goals and some hardware before it made its journey back down I-75. Unfortunately for the Cobb FC Chiefs Gold, they ran into an offensive buzzsaw in Macon.

Under 15 Boys B

Local Favorites Cobb YMCA Strikers took down the MPSC White in convincing fashion, 3-0 in Monday’s final. The Strikers got past the CPUSA Spartans in the semi’s, while MPSC took care of the ETSF 92/93 Falcons.

Under 15 Boys C

The Spirit of ‘93 came up big in the U15 Boys C finals, with a 2-0 victory over the Carolina FC 92 Boys Blue. Some thought of the Spirit out of Florida as a darkhorse in the field of 16, but the Spirit took care of its business and prevailed with a clean sheet for the tournament.

Under 16 Boys Cup

The Wellington Wave overwhelmed the West Pines United 4-1 in the finals held at Allen Creek this morning. The United took care of GSA 92 Phoenix Red in the semi’s, while the Wave beat the Cobb FC 92 Premier.

Under 16 Boys A

The North Atlanta 10 Elite overcame a strong TNFC 92 Blue 1-0 in the A finals. The Lakeland Lazers were the other division winners.

Under 16 Boys B

The Pensacola FC Admirals hopped on the backs of its defenders and prevailed with a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta Fire United 92 Gold in the final game. The Inter Atlanta FC were the other group winners.

Under 16 Boys C

The Lanier Sharks got by the Athens Assault in a 2-1 barnburner of a finals. The Sharks’ defense should be commended for holding an explosive Assault offense to only 1 goal, in the clutch defensive performance of the day.

Under 17 Boys Cup

Another Concorde team with success in the tournament, as the Concorde Fire Elite made quick work of the Bridge FA 90 Gold 4-0 to take the U17 Boys Cup. The other two group winners of this sixteen team division were the Atlanta United Fire Elite and the Cobb FC Premier 91.

Under 17 Boys A

The Vestavia Steamers ‘91 Black got by the TYSA Triumph Red 3-2 to take the U17 Boys A crown. TYSA got by the Crew 90 Black in the semi’s, while Vestavia prevailed over the Brentwood Chaos.

Under 17 Boys B

The PSA Predators shut out the North Atlanta 09 Premier 2-0 on Championship Monday. Two of the three division winners, the SRFC Huskies and the Lanier Sharks, failed to make the final game.

Under 17 Boys C

The SMSC Warriors came up with an impressive 3-0 victory over the ECU U17B, 3-0. In the semi’s, ECU beat the GSA 91 Phoenix White and the Warriors beat the Greater Osceola United.

Under 19 Boys Cup

In overtime, the North Atlanta 08 Elite got two goals to pull off the victory over Lexington United 89/90. In the semi’s, the Lexington looked strong in a 5-0 win over the Georgia FC 90 Gold, while the Elite shutout the Great Falls Rangers 89, 2-0.

Under 19 Boys A

The Thunderbolts 90 took down a strong AFC Lightning 90 Premier squad 3-1 in the A division finals. The other group winner from the division was Dallas Texans Red South.

Under 19 Boys B

The First Coast KYX got by the ECU 18’s 2-1 in penalty kicks on Monday to take the title. First Coast finished the tournament with an unblemished record.

Under 19 Boys C

The Dunedin Sterling fended off the CGSA Rovers 89 in a 2-1 finals held at Lovejoy. In the semi’s, Dunedin turned back the CGSA Rovers 89 while the Rovers took down the Glory United FC White.

Under 19 Boys D

The Thunder 90 Gold beat the Chattanooga Futbol Club in a 2-1 final to bring home the U19 Boys D crown. Thunder and Chattanooga ruled the division all weekend, each ending up with 9 points in regular play.
