LocalReplay Georgia High School Preseason Top 10: Class 3A

As the top tens roll on, LocalReplay takes a look at Class 3A, where the defending champions Peach County lead the way on our rankings followed by some upstart schools who look to make some noise in 3A.

1. Peach County-What else can you say about the Trojans? They have one of the best teams in the state. Look for Peach County to be holding the championship trophy in December.

2. Carrollton-The second set of Trojans on our top 10 list return a number of good players. Couple that with Rayvan Teague’s desire to win, Carrollton has a good shot for a region championship and a number 1 seed in the playoffs.

3. LaGrange-For a team that went 10-0 in the regular season in 2006, a state championship this year is the only option.

4. Flowery Branch-The Falcons return a lot of talent this year on the offensive side of the ball. But the question this season will be if can they finally put it all together.

5. Sandy Creek-The Fighting Patriots are a sleeper team in Class 3A. Their depth on offense and defense will make this team a factor.

6. Carver, Columbus-The Tigers were very close last year to winning it all. This season should be no different as Carver has the talent to repeat last year’s playoff success.

7. Shaw-A team that was very close to winning it all last year should see a drop-off this year, but is still good enough to crack our top ten.

8. Jackson-Mike Parris’s squad will be on the prowl this season with a much-improved team. Look for Jackson to make some noise in their region.

9. Cairo-The Syrupmakers had one of the best seasons in school history in 2006, and will look to make up with a massive loss of talent by benefiting from their drive and experience.

10. Perry-Rounding out our top 10 are the Panthers, who compiled a respectable 7-4 record last year. Coach Andy Scott will have his team ready for the 2007 season, and will likely exceed all expectations.
