The Georgia Stars won yet again Tuesday morning at the AAU 17U Boys Basketball National Tournament to advance to the day’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal. The Stars defeated Virginia’s G.E.S.U.S. Ball 60-53 and will play the winner of today’s quarterfinal between the Georgia Blazers and Team Breakdown.

If the Blazers win the quarterfinal game that is now under way, it would set up an all-Georgia national semifinal and ensure that a Georgia team will play on Wednesday in the national championship game. Either way, Georgia’s players will receive even more national recognition than they’ve already garnered because the games will be televised nationally on the ESPNU cable network. If the Blazers lose, the Stars will face a Florida team that finished second at the 2007 Reebok Roundball Classic. Team Breakdown features several players from South Florida.
