Good football goes on this Friday night in Tampa as four of the top teams from Hillsborough County lock horns.

Plant (6-1, 2-0 in Dist. 4A-10) will visit Chamberlain (6-2, 2-0 in Dist. 5A-6) in a match up of teams ranked at the top of their respective districts.

Another good match up of great teams happens when Gaither (6-2, 2-0 in Dist. 5A-5) travels to Hillsborough High (6-2, 2-1 in Dist. 4A-11) for a game that won’t have any district implications, but should still be entertaining.

In St. Pete, Lakewood (4-3, 2-1) goes across town to face Northeast (5-2, 2-1) to temporarily decide second place in District 4A-9.

Also in 4A-9, a couple of Bradenton schools square off in a good game. Southeast (1-6, 1-2) heads over to Bayshore (3-4, 2-1) to try and salvage their season, as well as their district hopes.

The top team in District 3A-8, Zephyrhills (5-2, 3-0), will go on the road to Gulf (3-4, 2-1) to defend their top stop from a Buccaneers team that should have plenty of motivation. Look for photos from this game on each team’s respective teamcards and Photographer Grant Stephens’ content channel.

Plenty should be sorted out this Friday night in District 3A-6 as the top four teams from that region square off.

Citrus (4-3, 1-1) looks to upend Crystal River (5-2, 2-0) on the road, and steal a game in the standings against the districts top team. Meanwhile, Hernando (2-5, 1-1) hosts Nature Coast (5-2, 2-1) with a chance at keeping their district hopes alive.

And finally, the best games this week might come from the small school ranks.

Class 1A-5 will see a dandy as Fort Meade (7-1, 4-0) puts their top spot on the line against visiting, second place Indian Rocks Christian (5-2, 3-0)

And in 1B-6, top team Keswick Christian (7-0, 3-0) travel to Sarasota County to face second place Out-of-Door Academy (4-2, 2-1)
