Florida Football: Week 8 1A Rankings
October 16th, 2007 Posted in Florida Sports, Florida, High School Sports, Florida Football, football, High School FootballAs you can see, we’re making a slight change to our rankings. Each class has its own post now.
Notice, too, that we’ve been adding links for teams to our posts. For example, click on this week’s No. 13, Branford. Those links will take you to the designated Team Card pages for the teams. Of the state’s 500-plus football schools, about 20 percent now have a Team Card on our site. If you haven’t registered to upload your photos and video to a Team Card, better get that done before the season ends. We’re happy to report that Local Replay is rapidly going mainstream just three months since launching, and 2008 promises to be a big year. Coaches, we’d also like to have your team stats, which can be sent directly to me by e-mail at: rwhite3135@cfl.rr.com or to the regular Local Replay e-mail.
The photos, video footage and stats will be there for years to come, as the site doesn’t have any plans to remove anything. Local Replay’s computer gurus (me included) wouldn’t know a mike back if he hit ‘em in the groin, but we start to salivate if you talk about server space and bandwidth. Anyway, on to this week’s rankings and on toward a fateful stop in Orlando.
In Class 1A, Liberty County dropped its first game. That leaves just two undefeated 1A teams: St. John Neumann (5-0) over in Naples and Westminster Academy (6-0) down in Fort Lauderdale. Florida Air, which lost its first game in Week 5, redeemed itself with a lopsided win in Week 6. Fort Meade did the same. The two biggest notables this week, though, are Glades Day and Delray Beach American Heritage. The Stallions, a team ranked No. 8 last week, upended Glades Day 33-8. That’s the second loss in three weeks for Glades Day. American Heritage has been golden since losing 23-20 to King’s Academy in Week 2.
