Tarpon Springs – The Clearwater Panthers SC went on the road and gained 3 valuable points, scoring twice in the second half to put the game away. Peter Todoric opened the scoring for the visitors before red cards were given to members of each team. After Josh Kent (Panhellenic Premier) and Phil Caldwell (Clearwater Panthers) were dismissed, George Filliposvski drew the hosts’ level with a magnificent strike off a set piece. In the second half, The Panthers wore down Panhellenic with goals from Dalibor Ignjatic and Paul Dungel. The win vaults Clearwater Panthers SC (2-2-1, 7 points) over Panhellenic Premier (1-2-2, 5 points) for 6th place in the standings.
The FSSL is the longest running amateur soccer league in Florida and currently has 8 divisions. The Premier Division plays their games on Sunday mornings all around the Suncoast Region from Sarasota to Tarpon Springs. The League encompasses many ethnic backgrounds and thus styles of play, making for an interesting game week in and week out.
