2007 Florida High School Football Team Rankings Schedule

August 25th, 2007 Posted in Florida Sports, Recruiting News, High School Sports, Florida Football, football, High School Football

The start of the football season is already under way with Saturday’s nationally-televised game pitting Miami’s Booker T. Washington against a South Carolina school. Several teams also showed a little of what they’ll bring to the table this year during pre-season scrimmages over the past few days.

Now things get serious, and we’re getting serious, too. Over the next week, LocalReplay will be hitting you hard with football news from across the state. Here’s what to expect as prep football and other fall sports prepare for launch.

1. Beginning Sunday and wrapping up on Friday, we’ll be presenting our Top 20 rankings for each of Florida’s eight high school football classifications. We’ll preview each of the state’s 160 teams that earn a spot on our lists. The 1A and 1B squads receive their grades on Sunday, and 2A and 2B will be picked apart on Monday. Then we’ll bump it up a class every day Tuesday through Friday, when the season begins in earnest.

2. On Thursday, we’ll present our Week 1 preview, where we’ll hit you with a few tight spirals and count down the week’s biggest matchups. By the way, Week 1 is no bore. Chaminade-Madonna hosts Glades Day and Ponte Vedra Beach Nease plays at North Marion the same night. There’s also Dr. Phillips hosting Edgewater and more. So check back on Thursday each and every week of the regular season for our previews.

3. As we scoot along in our inaugural year, we want to bring you the best stories from all Florida sports. To fulfill that quest, we’ll be presenting the LocalReplay Florida male and female Player of the Week each and every week. This extends beyond football to include Florida volleyball, Florida cross country, Florida swimming, Florida bowling and Florida golf. If you know someone who deserves the honor, drop up as informal note of nomination, and we’ll take it into consideration.

4. Each Saturday, we’ll roll out of bed and hunt down all of Friday night’s football news with scores and highlights. We’ll link to the top stories and tell you how all of the teams in our eight different Top 20s fared.

5. Throughout the season, look for brief notes and links to midweek stories on Florida football happenings.

6. Each Monday, we’ll throw together an update of the prior week’s recruiting news. If we miss one, send us a note and we’ll get it in the following week.

Now, let’s move on to our Class 1A Top 20…
