Florida High School Football Set For Kickoff
August 21st, 2007 Posted in Florida Football, football, High School FootballThe two-a-days are over. In just a week, field crews will roll out chalk and spray paint, to create the white markers that haunt dreams, mock souls and bring miracles. Each line will take on epic meaning. Years from now, grandfathers will tell stories that start, “There we were, on our own 40-yard line…”
It’s the start of Florida high school football, the ultimate sport in the ultimate state, where family extends beyond bloodstreams, where some guy whose stinky shoes caused your eyes to water will always be your brother. Now, your family has its own place on cyberspace. This week, LocalReplay kicks off its inaugural season with beginning-to-end coverage of Florida high school football, and we’re taking you along for the ride.
From the largest powerhouses of Class 6A to the tiny underdogs of Class 1B, we’ll bring you your stories. After all, this is your Web site. Build your own player web site (StarCard) in minutes, and then move any highlight video or photo on the site to your StarCard with one click. Upload photos and videos to your team’s TeamCard web site. Read about you, your family, your school, your city, your team. Take a look around, hang some family photos, share your thoughts and your secret-recipe meatloaf. And, best of all, do it free. There’s no mortgage to worry about here. It’s all free.
And don’t forget to check in daily for updates from across the state. Every weekend, we’ll recap the state’s biggest games and tell you what you need to know about the state’s best running backs, hardest hitters and strongest teams. Every Wednesday, we’ll bring you our player of the week. Every Thursday, we’ll bring you a preview of the week’s biggest matchups.
First, though, we’re kicking off the season with a preview of the top 100 players and the top 20 teams in each of the state’s eight classifications. Follow along beginning Thursday and enjoy your new home.
Don’t think we’re doing enough? Write your own story and submit it. Send us your team’s official stats.
