Former Wake Coach Joe Sanchez Moves To Jensen Beach
August 16th, 2007 Posted in High School Girl's BasketballIt’s a little early to think basketball, but Joe Sanchez will be doing just that after being named the new girls basketball coach at defending Class 4A state champion Jensen Beach.
Sanchez is a former Wake Forest coach. He coached the Lady Demon Deacons from 1985-1992 and was named the ACC coach of the year in 1988.
Sanchez had been coaching at South Fork. He took the job at Jensen Beach after Theresa Iuliucci took an assistant principal job at the school. Iuliucci was named Florida’s 4A prep coach of the year in the spring.
Sanchez was 99-93 during his time at Wake Forest. He was 2-8 in the women’s NCAA Tournament. He also coached at the U.S. Naval Academy and at the University of Central Florida.
